Types of support

The See: Learn: Transform programme complies with the Leicestershire County Council’s Community Life Choices ethos and principles

We are experienced in working with SEND adults and young people to help them achieve their goals and enable them to gain qualifications if required. Our fully trained and experienced team have supported over 65 adults and young people since 2015; some go into employment or further education; some stay with us to benefit from the services that nature provides. We are:

Outcomes focused – to promote independence; help gain employment, volunteering, and improving life skills.

Needs led – we work with you and your support network to support you to make your own choices and help you to try new things.

Focused on you as a person we listen and respond to you to help you make your own choices and develop your vocational, social and work skills.

Flexible – we will respond to changes in your needs and aspirations.

Supporting you towards independence – we involve you in community life, education, leisure, culture, recreation, employment and skills training to you can widen your interests and feel confident in accessing mainstream services.

We offer:

Personal Development Support – A tiered approach to developing you as a person – developed with Community Life Choice banding in mind

Health and Wellbeing Support – Responding to your needs to help you live positively

Training and Education Support – Offering a range of courses and training to help you move towards volunteering, internships, employment or further education

 

Levels of support

We have four levels of support:


Level 1 – supporting your needs

We work with you and your support team to create a personalised portfolio of activities and experiences that enable you to achieve your personal goals

Suitable for Community Life Choices: Bands C or D


Level 2 – developing skills for work

Together we create a structured work experience package that also supports your personal development. This can include cv writing, mock interviews, and job hunting. You can also gain City & Guilds qualifications in Skills for Working Life, English and/ or Maths.

Suitable for Community Life Choices: Bands A or B


Level 3 – gaining work experience

We all need a sense of purpose, and you can gain valuable experience by taking part in our numerous environmental projects – as well as our enterprises

Suitable for Community Life Choices: Bands A or B


Level 4 – gaining qualifications and employment

You can enrol on our many courses, all stepped so you can move up a level when you are ready. We help you identify and apply for jobs, and support you during the whole process of moving into work.
